Founding Principle Number 1: God is who He says He is. Your opinion does not sway His reality. Exodus 3:14 “God replied to Moses “I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: I AM has sent me to you.”
Number 2: He did in fact create the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1:1 “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”
Number 3: When God created the heavens and the Earth, he also created male and female “Male and female created He them.” Genesis 5:2 “On the day that God created man, He made him in the likeness of God; He created them male and female. When they were created, He blessed them and called them mankind.”
Number 4: Just because you scream and holler with great passion does not make you more virtuous or right. Proverbs 15:28 “The mind of the righteous person thinks before answering, but the mouth of the wicked blurts out evil things.”
Number 5: God never called the government to do what He had already called his church to do. Romans 13:1-2 “Let everyone submit to the governing authorities, since there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are instituted by God. So, then the one who resists the authority is opposing God’s command, and those who oppose it will bring judgement on themselves.” Authority can only come from God.
Mark 12:17 “Jesus told them, “Give to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.” And they were utterly amazed at Him.”
Number 6: Extolling the virtues of hard work is not “privilege.” It is a sound biblical principle for all races.
2 Thessalonians 3:6-13 “In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, we command you, brothers and sisters, to keep away from every believer who is idle and disruptive and does not live according to the teaching[a] you received from us. For you yourselves know how you ought to follow our example. We were not idle when we were with you, nor did we eat anyone’s food without paying for it. On the contrary, we worked night and day, laboring and toiling so that we would not be a burden to any of you. We did this, not because we do not have the right to such help, but in order to offer ourselves as a model for you to imitate. For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: “The one who is unwilling to work shall not eat.” We hear that some among you are idle and disruptive. They are not busy; they are busybodies. Such people we command and urge in the Lord Jesus Christ to settle down and earn the food they eat. And as for you, brothers and sisters, never tire of doing what is good.”
(I know it’s long, but God’s word is too rich to take out of context.)
Number 7: We are created in the image of God. Therefore, all human beings are to look at each other in that light. This is why I believe in the sanctity of human life. Psalms 139:13-14 “For it was you who created my inward parts; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I will praise you because I have been remarkably and wondrously made. Your works are wonderous and I know this very well.”
Number 8: God invented the concept of marriage between one woman and one man for life. This will make some feel uncomfortable. It is not meant to do so as I come from a divorced home. I am simply stating God’s divine design. Genesis 2:23-24 “And the man said ‘This one, at last, is bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh; this one will be called “woman” for she was taken from man.’ This is why a man leaves his father and mother and bonds with his wife, and they become one flesh.”
Number 9: Being wealthy does not make you virtuous and being poor does not make you virtuous. The Bible says that all have fallen short of the glory of God. The only virtue we have as believers is Christ living in us (The Holy Spirit). Proverbs 22:2 “Rich and poor have this in common: the Lord makes them all.” 2 Corinthians 6:16 “And what agreement does the temple of God have with idols? For we are the temple of the living God, as God said, “I will Dwell and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.””
Number 10: Your feelings can lie to you. Be careful when someone says, “just follow your heart.” As Jeremiah 17:9 warns, “The heart is most deceitful of all things, and incurable – who can understand it?” The good news is, we can trust our maker.
